Birmingham Children's Hospital Cheque Presentation

Birmingham Children’s Hospital is £16,000 better off thanks to the efforts of leading automotive company the Futura Group. The money was raised during Futura’s recently held Charity Golf Day hosted at the prestigious Forest of Arden Golf Club in the Midlands. More than 80 players tested their skills during the day before being joined by friends and partners for a charity auction and dinner during the evening.   


Receiving the cheque on behalf of Birmingham Children’s Hospital Elinor Eustace, Corporate Partnerships Manager said ‘Futura have been incredible, supporting the hospital with two events over the past 12 months. Together with their previous cheque Futura has raised more than £26,000. We are extremely grateful and know that the money will make a significant difference to our Children’s Cancer Centre Appeal. Thank you Futura for your continued support!’ 


Presenting the cheque was Dan Abel, Recruitment Manager for Futura who was supported by Amy Deakin, Administration Manager and Katie Rose, Technical Analyst, both of whom had played a big part in arranging both the 2013 and the 2014 Charity Golf days.


Dan Abel said ‘Futura’s Head Office is in Oldbury and we wanted to support a local charity; Birmingham Children’s Hospital does some amazing work and has touched the lives of friends and family involved in Futura so we are committed to supporting the charity long term.’


And that commitment to long-term support has already begun with Amy and Katie planning next years’ charity golf event which they hope will run in June 2015. They have also been hatching plans to run some monthly ‘challenges’ for Futura staff…. Amy Deakin explained ‘We’ve some ideas for staff challenges, we know someone who is terrified of spiders, so maybe they could be sponsored to hold a spider at the local zoo! We have some other ideas as well, but we’d like to hear from Futura’s Social Media followers, so send us your suggestion and help us raise even more money for BCH!’
